Philanthropy Events
Consistent with our motto, "Do Good", Delta Gammas believe that giving back is essential in our journey of life. Our philanthropy, Service for Sight, allows us to first handedly impact the visually impaired community. Whether it be visiting an elderly home in the Tulsa area, volunteering at the Oklahoma School for the Blind or making brail coloring book pages, Delta Gammas are always dedicating their time to helping others.
ANCHORSPLASH
This past fall we benefited Service for Sight with our annual DG Lip Sync! All of the Greek chapters on TU's campus choreographed hilarious Lip Sync routines and performed them in front of the whole campus. It was a super fun night filled with lots of laughter!
WORLD SIGHT DAY
This year, we publicized World Sight Day by passing sweet treats around campus that held facts about Vision Loss, Vision Impairment, and the importance of getting your eyes checked. Three years ago, we had the honor of hosting Jeremy Poincenot, an inspirational speaker who went blind at the age of 19. It was such an amazing evening that left an impact on all who came to listen. Benefiting Service for Sight in this way gave new meaning to the purpose of our philanthropy. It was wonderful to hear how Jeremy is "inspiring people to turn trauma into triumph!" We are working to get another inspirational speaker for 2020!
DESSERTS WITH DEEGEE
We host Desserts with DG to benefit Service for Sight in the Spring semester. We bring our own Valentine's Day desserts and decorate the house. We play music and all of campus is invited to come and enjoy all you can eat desserts! Everyone loves this event and it is always fun for Delta Gammas. We had such a successful event this year and cannot wait for next year!
Be sure to attend our future Philanthropy Events!
